It's all in a name
I played with Jack and Mira today. Mira could be Meera or Mia. Jack is definately Jack.

All change!
I also had a different dinner lady today - Mrs Harvey was in Squirrels. I have forgotten her name but she is from Badgers group. She was nice.
I played spaceships with Jack, Max and Owen at school. At the end of the day the spaceship was a little bit broken and all the bricks fell off.
I had a good day today.

Just one Sturt ?
Family tree
Nymans Gardens for a picnic lunch with all the family. Well, Uncle Zal wasn't there because he is on his way to America but we thought about him lots!
After lunch we had some ice cream with Grandma and Moo then we went for a walk. Last time I came here with Mum all the flowers and plants were under sleeping bags to stay warm. This time they were out in the open and the Autumn colours were really pretty.
I also love the view from the top of the hill when you first walk in .... I told Mum that it looked lovely and you could see hundreds of trees in Autumn colours like browns and reds.
We walked through the walled garden and saw the old house .... Zilly, Zara and I pretended it was Diggery's house and that we were walking into Narnia. We also posed for a picture in front of lion statue. We are sure it is Aslan!

Veggie supreme
I pulled up leeks and picked our two varieties of runner beans and cucumber. The cucumber plant is really funny - it has grown so much that it has wound itself up the runner beans!
I also watered the garden while Mum found renewed life in the courgette plant and picked some of our chillies. I also got to taste one of our baby red onions ... they were meant to be normal size but didn't grow properly - despite being weeny they were really tasty.
The pizza dough was particularly yummy and Dad said it would be very nice for quiche too. The ingredients were: self raising flour; semolina; butter; brown sugar and water.
Popcorn for dinner while we watched Merlin and Strictly Come Dancing. I like Rachel Stevens best.
Flippin' Pancakes
Pancakes for breakfast with Rob and Anna ... honey and sugar is yummy. Dad isn't covinced.
Dad was allowed to watch me dancing Thumbalina at dancing today but he didn't get to see us practising our Disney dance. All will be revealed at our show .... in May.
Badge of honour
As wearer of the rabbit badge I took the register to the school office. I chose Max to come with me and on the way back to our classroom we saw Mr Goodhall. He said hello to us.
The squirrels badge wearer also handed in their register to Mr Goodall in the morning. In the afternoon we took the registers of both reception classes together.

More cheese biscuits
Mrs Harris is my teaching assitant and works with Mrs Etherington. When Zillyan was in reception Mrs Lines was the teaching assitant in rabbits but Mrs Harris told me she knows Zilly too!
I made cheese biscuits with Mrs Harris today ... twice in one week! It was great and I get to eat them in three days .... after three sleeps. Mum says this sounds like a long wait but I think my teachers know how to make them. The morning-only children made them with Mrs Etherington.
Tomrrow could be a very exiting day because I may get to wear the rabbits badge. The wearer does all the work for the class like taking the register to Mr Goodall's office; looking after the cloakroom; putting people's velcro names back on the home tree at the end of the
day (so that they can take them off again the next morning and put them on the "at school" tree) and going at the front of the line when we walk to the big playground.Someone different does it every day ... if it is not my turn tomorrow it may be the day after ... or the day after that...
Slightly more certain is tomorrow's letterland character - I will be learning all about invisible ink.
It is so fun fun fun at school!
Creepy Crawlies
Talking Tess
Oh hang on .... lunch was actually the highlight of my day ... I sat on a table with Mrs Harvey and ate the cheese biscuits we made with Dad on Sunday night.

No, sorry ... I totally forgot...the real highlight of my Monday was Talking Tess. She appeared on my classroom white board ... like a vision of tantalising beauty she taught me the true genius of the letter "t".
So many highlights - so many new roots.

Cousin blog
She is going to tell everyone about her amazing new school where she is the only pupil and does loads of fun stuff.
She loves High School Musical and has called her blog Home School Musical.
Check it out here.
Wii-fat
Just in case - what better way to shed a few pounds than a bike ride in Tilgate Park. We went with Lara, Alex, Torrin.
I love my Fireman Sam bike but it is too small now. My knees hit the handlebars when I peddle. Perhaps Father Christmas is reading this blog ... ????

Books etc
1. Hamlet - Andrew Matthews and Tony Ross
I wanted this because David Tennant is playing Hamlet at the theatre at the moment. I cannot go and see it because I am too young BUT this book makes the story easy for children to understand.
2. Marvin Redpost - Kidnapped at Birth - Louis Sachar
This is the first in Marvin Redpost series but I didn't know this when I chose the book. I just liked the cover!
Mum says I need to hurry up and learn to read because she cannot keep up with all the stories I beg, borrow and steal (mainly from my sister!).

Bags of trouble
My first day at school was really fun. I played with Jack and Owen, cleaned up with Jack and even bumped into Zilly in the playground.
Mrs Etherington read with me for the first time today too - If you're Happy illustrated by Ann Skelly and Dinosaur Party by Rod Theodorou. She put a sticker in my book for doing so well!
Teatime is less fun ... Zilly, Cosmic and I are all eating tea in different rooms. Sarah, Mum and Dad devised this plan to stop us fighting. We can only eat together again when we stop arguing.
I better get used to eating alone ...... "table for one please".
Derbie's quote of the day: "I don't really like the bits in the
mash. The potato bits..."
Full time schoolboy
George's 9th birthday and my first full day at school - how cool is that?
I think today is going to be fun because I am staying for lunch for the first time! I am really looking forward to it and I will be there in the afternoon and morning! I will also get to play TWO times!
Must dash ..... have to put my shoes on ..... schooltime!

See-saw
School was fun today and afterwards Zill and I had our swimming lessons at K2 Leisure Centre.
Mum was less than happy though. She wanted me to have my eyes tested before I start school full time. I often hold books very close to my nose and she wants to make sure I don't need glasses.
Sarah rang around opticians and no one would test my eyes until I am 5. They say I have to be referred by my doctor but this will take ages AND I'll be 5 in a month or so anyway.
So, as they won't test me early, the only option is to wait until I turn 5. Mum says that means I may be missing out on important things for a whole half a term.
I'm not that fussed. I think an eye test sounds a bit scary .... do my pupils need to revise?
Up with the lark
First day of morning school today ..... 0855-1205.
In the first week my teachers think it is really important to get to know us that is why the year is divided in half. One half does 3 mornings while the other does 3 afternoons ... then vice versa. After this school starts properly.
Not all my friends will start school full time on Thursday. Owho and others who aren't 5 until next year can only go full time after Christmas. At first they will only go in the morning and will not stay for lunch. This is going to change for next year though so even though Cosmic will be young for his year, he will be able to start full time in the Autumn term.
Gymnastics tonight .... I started after school classes two weeks ago and they are really fun!
Lazy like Sunday morning
We don't do lazy Sundays ... however hard I try.
First it was shopping for ballet/swimming bags (no luck); black t-shirts for Zilly (no luck) and a vital part of machinery for my Spaceship building programme (not much luck but I found some small Star Wars figures in Sainsbury's which will do for now ....).
Then, with no chance of a McDonalds or Kentucky Fried Chicken, we had to settle for a Pizza Hut as my starting school family lunch treat.
But no pudding because we had to rush to Sofia's house. It was her real birthday today and she had saved us cake ..... with icing!
Vast quantities of E-numbers are always the perfect end to a weekend!
Party people
Zillyan was very upset about Tin Tin but we took her for her first day at Stagecoach to try and take her mind off things.
Then we went to Cat and Alex's house. I played with Cosmic and Torrin and then put on my dancing clothes and went over to the Millenium Hall. It was my first ballet class of the Autumn term and we have started preparing for our show next May.
In the afternoon I went to Sofia's 5th birthday party - bowling in Horsham. Sofia's Dad, Alex, said the machine used to add up our scores was the Tardis controller. I played with it lots and he had to try and stand in my way. That will teach him not to make up such silly things!
Ostyn won the bowling game. I ate chips and came home with a fab party bag. Thank you Sofia!
Missing you already ...
TIN - TIN 1993 TO 2008
NB/ ORIGINALLY WRITTEN: SAT. 13th SEPT. AM
Tin Tin died this morning.
Mum found him curled up on the living room floor. He went in his sleep.
Dad dug a hole in the garden and we buried him next to Murf and Guinness.
We all said something nice about him and promised Mum and Dad we would remember all the happy times with him.

Day Three .. is the magic number
I introduced Mummy's friend Nicci to my school today. She came to visit with her daughter, India (in the picture), and after lunch they walked me to school with Mum and Cosmic.
What a surprise - when I arrived at school Daddy was waiting for me at the reception gates. He only had time to kiss me goodbye before I had to go inside but it was great to see him.
There are two classes in reception. I am in rabbits and my teacher is called Mrs Etherington. The other class is squirrels and my friend Sofia is in this clas with Mrs Wellman.
Sofia's Mummy, Catherine, collected me from school today because Mum had to take our cat Tin Tin to the vets. He is very ill.
I played with Sofia and her brother, Ostyn, after school. Catherine gave me tea and then Mum came to collect me.
Zillyan had bought her class mascot, a cuddly toy badger, home for the weekend. Badger watched us get ready for bed and then listened to Daddy reading us the last chapter of
The Magician's Nephew, by C.S Lewis, to us.
It was a great book and Dad has promiosed to read us the next book in the series, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, very soon. We have seen the film so we know it is going to be good!
Day Two at the Zoo ... sorry, school!
Yesterday there were a cast of thousands to see me off ... today was a quieter affair!
It was another afternoon session in reception. Yesterday I was laden down with my PE Kit, spare clothes, wellies etc. Today, I only carried my bookbag into the classroom.
Everyday I change my reading book (which I read) and my story book (which Mum, Dad or Zilly reads to me). We are meant to try and read every day and write comments in my reading diary.
Yesterday I read my first reading book to Mum while I waited to go into my cello lesson. It was called "Books" by Jillian Cutting. Today I chose "Yellow" by Pauline Cartwright as my reading book.
I am hoping Mum and Dad will read me my Robin Hood (by Marcia Williams) book tonight - I took it out Horsham Library last week and it has loads of battle scenes and bows and arrows in it!
Introduction to reception
I spent my first proper afternoon at school playing - first of all I played outside, then I played inside, then outside, then inside, then outside ....
Mum, Dad, Sarah and Cosmic collected me from school. Zillyan then went to her piano lesson with Sarah and Cosmic and Mum and Dad took me to my cello lesson with Kay.
My first day at school
This morning I walked my sister, Zillyan, to school with Mum and Dad. Then we dropped in on Grandma and Grandpa. Doctors have just given Grandma a new knee and because it is still very sore she may not be able to come to school with me this afternoon.
I was a bit peckish when we arrived home so Mum whisked me out to brunch - bagels at the Bookshop! We were joined by Dad, Sarah, Cosmic, Auntie Paul, Auntie Moo and Amy.
Then I came home and changed into my school uniform ....
